This lesson provides a mentor text and a prewriting activity to help students choose a person to write to. It then breaks down the process of writing a sincere, meaningful thank you letter for students including sentence starters. This is a one to two day lesson. (You may just have students finish the letter for homework and show it to you the next day rather than taking it to two days. I actually only use one day for it, and students usually finish their letters during my 45 minute class period
