This is an AP Language and Composition Audit that has been approved by the AP College Board. It includes summer assignments and a day by day syllabus for the entire year. I am teaching this to seniors, so the focus is not American Literature as many AP Language Courses are. It uses a variety of speeches, research articles, and senior texts while focusing on research and synthesis.

Kindergarten Writers Workshop Curriculum Calendar
This is a sample curriculum calendar for a K-1 writers workshop block. It includes time frames, unit of study titles, and teaching points for each unit. Please note, I taught this curriculum in kindergarten. Therefore, it was originally labeled as "kindergarten." However, it is suitable for both kinder and first grades. (The only change for first grade that I would suggest is to use different topics for the conventions studies to fit your students' needs.)

This is the paper I pass out on the first day of class. It clearly states my expectations of the class and identifies projects and other activities. It also lists requirements and materials for the course.
This can be manipulated to fit any teacher's needs. I am very clear and upfront about what I expect from my students. This sets the tone for the class.

This is a writing rubric that follows the 6 + 1 Traits of Writing Rubric. It is intended for use in 2nd grade, but could be used for 3rd or 4th grade also. Gives descriptions of what should be covered for each trait under the appropriate column.
