This really gets students to think critically by applying what they learned to design their own lab, and allows them to practice writing which I know is always a heavy concern. This is a pre engineering project about simple machines which make a complex machine. This shows you how to build each type of the simple machines. A lot of photos to let you see how to make them. It has a Rubric also. This takes about 2 weeks of class time and teaches terms like transfer of energy, gravitational energy, direction, force, mass, etc..
