Main Idea Lesson Plan
This is a lesson plan designed to introduce what a Main Idea is in a fun way! It scaffolds the process of identifying the main idea through gradual release of responsibility. My favorite aspect of the lesson is how it allows students the chance to read real news going on in a world today and begin to start analyzinging it as they look for the main idea in it! This is a fun lesson that incorporates videos, class discussions, and group work as students learn a method to identify the main idea.
