I made this reading strategy sheet for my 8th graders, but it could be used at any grade level to reinforce their knowledge of reading terms and vocabulary. It's aligned with Texas TEKS which are very close to Common Core Standards. I gave it to my students the first week of school, and we used it almost every day as a reference. Plus, I didn't have to make another study sheet or vocabulary list every time we had a test. They would just pull out the strategy sheet and be good to go!

I love to put the current math chapter vocabulary words up on my math bulletin board. It is such a great way for students to refer back to the vocabulary you are trying to reinforce! These were created using a colorful PowerPoint theme so that you could print them out in color as single slide pages. Back in colorful paper and laminate. Or, just slip them perfectly into a page protector and hang them during your math unit of surface area and volume.

After defining each term, students use the middle column to demonstrate how the two terms are alike!Students like this way of connecting vocabulary terms together for further understanding of the content!
