Rate of Change and Slope Fill in notes

Solving Systems of Equations by Substitution Notes and Tic-Tac-Practice Activity
In order to introduce solving systems by substitution, we did these guided notes and practice activity. First, I introduced three new vocab words and the procedure. Then we did a guided example, a partner example, and worked on independent Tic-Tac-Toe Practice. in my classroom the first to get done with each type of tic-tac-toe (vertical, horizontal, diagonal) gets a class reward ticket but you could also use candy / whatever you like to incentivize a little competition!

The hook contains a problem students should know how to solve with numbers and one variable next to a problem with letters replacing the numbers. This is to show them that the solving is exactly the same method but you are just moving variables instead and combining like terms is different.
