This resource will take up two 75-minute class periods. The PowerPoint looks at the purpose of sentencing, the sentencing process and the different types of sentencing. The guided note allows students to copy down the note in a scaffolded manner. To end there is a research task where students list the aggravating and mitigating factors, the mandatory minimum or maximum sentence and what they would give the criminal if they were the judge. It is perfect for a CLU3M or CLN4U course.
