Amazon Echo waiver (culinary arts focus)
This waiver is for parents about the new technologies such as voice-controlled intelligent devices. This includes the Amazon Echo "Alexa," Google Home, etc. Some school districts believe it is a risk to have such a device in the classroom. I use it for my culinary arts program but the file is editable and can be adapted to fit your classroom needs.

Culinary Arts Alcohol Waiver
In Oregon, culinary arts students are able to use alcohol in their cooking. However, a waiver helps the school district and you as the teacher safe legally. Your state may be the same, in which case this template to use for parents and school district will be of great help!
The file is a document format and easy to edit. I also suggest using a school district letterhead. If you are not in Oregon, you will want to add your state's law using alcohol in a high school culinary class setting.

Iron Chef Competition
I used the following activity as a team building exercise for the staff at our school. There has been a surge of food programs becoming popular and I figured everyone enjoys eating.It can be used at the beginning of the year as an ice-breaker or as an end of year celebration before summer break.This competition requires the use of the foods lab, or at least an area where food may be prepared.
With a few tweaks, it can be made appropriate for students in the foods lab as well.
