As you guide them through this lesson idea, students will learn about expository writing in a second language, Spanish. Amazon Echo waiver (culinary arts focus)
This waiver is for parents about the new technologies such as voice-controlled intelligent devices. This includes the Amazon Echo "Alexa," Google Home, etc. Some school districts believe it is a risk to have such a device in the classroom. I use it for my culinary arts program but the file is editable and can be adapted to fit your classroom needs.

Cooking in Special Education: Scrambled Eggs and Egg Safety
I taught this the day before we were going to cook scrambled eggs. I simply reviewed the recipe & the "big SAFETY ideas" the next day before cooking!

In Oregon, culinary arts students are able to use alcohol in their cooking. However, a waiver helps the school district and you as the teacher safe legally. Your state may be the same, in which case this template to use for parents and school district will be of great help!
The file is a document format and easy to edit. I also suggest using a school district letterhead. If you are not in Oregon, you will want to add your state's law using alcohol in a high school culinary class setting.

Pikelet Preparation Practical
This culinary experiment is a good way for students to understand the fundamentals of Chemistry by identifying key practices in the lab with a fun, easy introductory practical. Students will cover following procedures, identifying products, reactants, limiting factors and practice writing what may be their first experimental.
