Dinosaur Songs with science facts (Lyrics only)

What child does not love to learn about dinosaur songs? For example, "Well, let me tell you a story about ole' T-Rex. Great big legs, but itty bitty pecs!" I have written a collection of songs (piggyback style) that incorporate factual information about the dinosaur featured in the lyrics. This material is in alignment with the GLAD philosophy about learning.I have videos to accompany several of the songs for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXq9_-MBAss&t=7s Check out my YouTube chan

Stone Fox Song (Go Go Willy)

This is a song I wrote and recorded. It's based on the book Stone Fox, by John Reynolds Gardiner. SPOILER ALERT!!! The song mentions key parts of the story, including the end of the dogsled race. Many of my teacher friends have used the Stone Fox song in their classrooms, sometimes just for entertainment, sometimes during literacy time. Thanks! We Draw Conclusions

A short (2:08) English Language Arts song to help reinforce the concept of drawing conclusions from text or a story. We Draw Conclusions We draw conclusions, yes we do. We draw them all the time. We draw conclusions while we read to get in the author's mind! If we read about a character that's limping down the street.
Then we can conclude that they hurt their leg or feet. If a girl shares a girl shares her chocolate with everyone on the bus. Then we can conclude that this girl is gener

Zoophonics format with RIGGS sounds - Alphabet Cheer

This is all the RIGGS sounds plus a few from words their way minus a few that sound exactly the same and added in with some simple spelling rules. The song is around 4 minutes and accompanies my Zoo-phonics Riggs cards. This song and follow up Zoo-phonics sounding out with my train song (soon to be uploaded) has taught my preschoolers all their sounds and how to sound out words within a few months. The reason I say each one 3 times is because that research has shown that anything repeated 3 t

The Shortcut Song (Donald Crews)

This is a song based on Donald Crews' Shortcut. It follows the sequence of the story line and builds suspense similar to the story. Other teachers have used this for multiple purposes in the reading and writing workshops such as for an extension lesson, to compare and contrast, to analyze how an author (or songwriter) builds suspense, for teaching sequence, for character analysis, and more. I have a list of instructional possibilities I will gladly send you for free at your request. The Sh

Favorite Characters Song

This song celebrates reading and features the names of some popular book characters. More than that, it is a great resource to use for fluency practice. Or, if you're working on syllables, each line of each verse follows a pattern of one, two, three, then four syllables (Bone, Babar, Abuela, Bunnicula). You might also use the song for classroom transitions. I have been incorporating music into literacy lessons for years. In fact, I will write a song made to order about anything you are rea

Relax - Song

I wrote this song when I was Principal at Takena elementary school. Most of the kids visiting my office were sent there because they had given in to frustration and lashed out at teachers or other students. Intended for kids from 1st grade to 5th grade, this song is all about controlling frustration in the lunch line, frustration on the playground, with your Mom, your Dad, or even your Principal. I found the song was helpful for some of my most frequent visitors in the Principal's office.
