Patterns in Skip Counting Full Lesson (Day 1 Smartboard)
This lesson follows the Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI) format. It guides students through analyzing patterns in skip counting by using hundred charts. Dress the bear so that he is prepared for his day. That depends on the weather of course! Children can choose the appropriate clothing in this interactive Smart board activity. Can be used as a stand alone lesson or as a center activity. Great addition to a morning calendar routine.

Same or Different? September
To promote English language proficiency and higher order thinking, I created a short daily activity in which students name 2 items and collaborate with partner to discuss how the objects are the same or are different. The file is for the SMARTBoard and requires Notebook software to be used.
I use the activity in a think-pair-share structure. The kids are interested and blow me away with their thinking sometimes! Check back for the proceeding months soon!

Soccer morning attendance SMARTboard
I use this soccer-attendance for the kids in the morning. When they arrive at school they put the ball with their name on in the goal. When everyone has arrived, all the balls are inside the goal. Often I also take the time on the students. How many minutes does it take until we are ready to start?
You can also use this for other things. As an example the kids can score goals when they have completed certain tasks like reading or writing.

Marble Solitaire Smartboard Game
In this game a player jumps one marble over the other (not diagonally) until there is only one marble remaining (very challenging). Each time you jump a marble, you remove the marble you jumped over. Most will find four, three or two marbles remaining a worthy achievement!
