"All Summer in a Day" Rewritten for Struggling Readers

This classic short story by Ray Bradbury is often taught to middle school students. I have rewritten it here for students reading at a third grade level so that struggling readers can comprehend it. I have preserved similes and metaphors, for the most part, to help struggling readers work on untangling those for both denotative and connotative meaning. Note: According to Microsoft Word stats, the grade level readability is 2.5. See screenshot of complete stats in uploaded sample.
