We all know how difficult it can be to get our students to know how to recognize and use details in writing. Here is a song that can get them to at least think about what details are and how to use them. Why “this” activity?I recently noticed in my 7th & 8th graders summary writing, they struggle to recognize and eliminate redundant phrases. Rather than drill and kill with redundancy examples, I was hoping to find something they might enjoy while linking to a cultural reference. Since I teach in SW Missouri, country music is an easy link to make for my kids.
