In this edit-able printout, students will label the parts and purposes of a seed. Word banks can be removed if desired. This printout is designed to accompany a seed dissection. Soak lima beans (from the grocery store works fine) for a few hours to soften the seed. The students can then loosen the seed coat with a pinch of their fingers, separate the two halves of the seed and gently remove the embryo from the seed.
