Learning Contract for Compacted Curriculum
This classroom form is designed to help differentiate instruction for gifted students. Once a student proves they've mastered the unit material currently being taught in class, they may opt to create a proposal for an individual enrichment study. The contract is signed by the teacher, the student, and a mentor. This form helps keep gifted students responsible for their own learning and set goals suitable to their intellectual proficiency.

Self-Reflection and Check-In
At the end of the day, it can be helpful to have students stop and reflect on their behavior and choices! This is a tool that I have found helpful in my own classroom. This tool can be cut and pasted into a notebook communication log. This helps keep the students aware and involved in their behavior and actions, as well as aware of the communication with their parents.

IEP Assessment Checklist for Initial and Triennial (WIAT)
This product is a checklist for Special Education teachers who use the WIAT. This list is intended for use in planning and organizing academic assessments for students with IEPs.

These signs were created in Keynote for Mac, and I've uploaded them as a .pdf. I hole punch these signs and then hang them on hooks outside my door so admin, students, and other teachers know where we are!

Blank Chessboard
Chess is an excellent classroom activity that can be enjoyed by students of all levels.
If your students play chess in class, but have limited time, at the end of the period they can jot down where the pieces are on this sheet, and save time re-setting the board the next class time.

I find that the best way to keep parents on your side as an educator is to keep them informed of what is happening in your class. Most teachers have too many students to call or write each parent, but email is a good solution in today's technologically savvy world. This is a quick way to assess your TAG students or regular classroom student interests. Use it to get started in your project-based classroom or simply as a get-to-know-you activity.

Science: The Making of Ice Cream vs the Freezing of Water
This lesson covers the freezing temperature of water and how it can be altered to lower the temperature at which water freezes. In doing so, students perform a lab to make their own ice cream. It also allows students to measure using a graduated cylinder and triple beam balance. Measurements are made in metric units. Also included are questions, a graph for students and several questions regarding the lab. There is also some ideas for extension activities.

Alternative Assessment
The Alternative Assessment document is intended to offer students choice in regards to how they want to demonstrate what they have learned. I started using this Alternative Assessment form with students that performed poorly on traditional tests. These directions offer learners the option to apply what they have learned regurgitating information for a test.

Free Greek Latin Symbol Hall Pass Elementary Gifted Middle High School
My precocious 5th graders always feel very sophisticated using these and understanding the meaning of the symbols. I don't think I'd go much lower than 4th grade unless the children are extremely advanced; but it's definitely suitable for older kids.
The male symbol represents the sword and shield of Mars. The female symbol is Aphrodite's hand mirror.

This EDITABLE Google Form can be used to track students' late work. Responses are gathered in a way that makes it easy to sort by student and/or class period. Students are held accountable for reading the late work policy and recognize the original due date and date submitted. Late tickets submitted via Google Form help the teacher keep a written record of all late work by assignment.

Julius Caesar List of Speaking Characters
This is a Word Document that lists all of the characters from "The Tragedy of Julius Caesar" whom have speaking parts, so you can keep track of what role each student has been assigned. They are listed in order of appearance by act.
