5 Minutes Left and What Can I Do? : 100 Fun and Challenging Puzzles
Thank you for visiting this page! After 30+ years of teaching, these are my absolute favorite classroom-tested time fillers. Every teacher needs to have something ready when a planned lesson ends earlier than anticipated or the kids just need a break at the end of the period.
Some puzzles I have used over the years just do not work well; these all do. What they have in common is that they are challenging, engaging to all students, and effective problem-solving/critical thinking activities.

Bucket Filler or Bucket Dipper Activity
This activity goes with the book, How Full Is Your Bucket, by Tom Rath.
Bucket Filler or Bucket Dipper Game:
Cut Label and glue on bucket (or bag). Cut out 30 cards double sided and place in bucket (or bag). Divide the class into two teams. Each student comes up and pulls out a card. If the card is positive (bucket filler) their team gets a point. If the card is negative (bucket dipper) their team doesn’t get a point. The team with the most points wins the game.

Roll It! Get To Know You Game Board
Roll It- Get to Know You game board is specifically designed as a icebreaker activity. Great for a small group or Lunch Bunch counseling session. Students will answer questions based on what category they are marking on their game board. In other words, just roll the dice and try to complete each category but answer the questions as you mark your game sheet. This is great to get groups to talk to one another while playing a game. Just add dice and your groups will be ready to roll!

Self-Esteem Activity: "I am special and unique!"
This product can be used in multiple ways! It can be an opportunty for students to write and share/discuss, or even as a bingo game in a small group! Like my "Self-Esteem Dice Game, this is a solution-focused activity focused on positive things to help with self-esteem! Students write their name in the middle, and write in each square. Think It or Say It Premium Printable Lesson
This printable lesson packet teaches the concept of Think or Say It- discriminating between thoughts that should be kept in their head or thoughts that can be said out loud. If thoughts will cause uncomfortable or hurt feelings, they fall in the “think” category. When thoughts are positive or helpful they can “say” them out loud.

These 10 flashcards of monsters showing common feelings may be used in a variety of ways.
