Mini-Golf Vector Activity - Adding Multiple Vectors

Created by
Dunigan Science
This fun 50 minute activity is designed to simplify resolving vectors into components and determining the magnitude and direction of the resultant when multiple vectors are added. It is appropriate for on-level up to AP Physics and for a pre-calculus class.Presented as a 9 hole round of mini-golf, students use colored pencils to resolve vectors into x and y components using a grid, add those components to create a resultant and then calculate the magnitude and direction of the resulting vector.

3D Smart Phone Holographic Viewer - Physics of Light and Reflection

Created by
Dunigan Science
This lab is super inexpensive and so much fun! Students construct a four sided plastic prism from transparency film to view hologram videos found on Youtube. This quick and easy activity is related to light and reflection and is a great follow up to the physics of mirrors. It’s also a great filler for one of those odd days where one glass is longer than the others or if you need to wow your supervisor. You can make four viewers per sheet of transparency. I simply gave a call out for them at m

Nuclear War card game

This game is about radioactive decay, not military war with nuclear weapons! The most peace-loving people among us still need to know how alpha, beta and gamma particles behave and what "decay" actually means. This team card/board game steps students through the process so they'll remember it.It's a team game with a moderator directing when the first team should stop trading or moving cards, and the second team should begin. You can play it with team members using only cards they've drawn, or yo

This Google Slide presentation includes Pear Deck slides. Provided are four examples of different position time graphs with detailed explanations of how the PT graph relates to the velocity and acceleration of the object being represented. We relate PT graphs to the Rate of Change (the derivative) of the line. Rate of change is explained as slope and is touched on again, briefly, in these slides.I found that this method of teaching Position Time graphs was the most effective method with my Fresh
