This math center will give your K-1 students practice in measuring with nonstandard units. Preparation: Print out the insects and task card on heavy paper. Laminate and cut out. Print a recording sheet for each student. To use: Students will measure from red dot to red dot on each insect using unifix cubes. Students will write the measurement next to the correct insect on their recording sheet. Students will then circle which insect is longest, and which is shortest.
