This is a math project for upper elementary or middle school students.
Students inherit a large sum of money and must spend it all in a short amount of time. This unit covers banking, discounts, and sales tax. I use this with my middle school special education math class and with certain accommodations, my students do very well with the assignment and like it a lot. Mothers Day Quadratic Transformation Activity FUN!
Students will graph quadratic functions using vertex form and a restricted domain. The graphs spell out MOM in the end. They then fill out a letter to mom using quadratic function vocabulary that gives thanks to her for all she does. Have students fold a piece of construction paper in half and glue the MOM graph on front and the letter portion inside to make a card!
