Purpose: This product was created to deepen understanding of text features beyond labeling and identification. After students have become familiar to naming text features, students are given multiple opportunities to dig deeper into Non-Fiction textbooks, passages, magazines, brochures, infographics… (you name it) through the use of this handout. By promoting this self-monitoring and thinking, students begin to create ‘good reader’ habits, and uncover a wealth of information along the way.
