HOW TO USE THIS RESOURCE

On the 2nd slide- the interactive read-aloud classroom, we have different hyperlinked books and a video sharing facts about the Juneteenth which you’ll use with the book response slide 15.

On the 3rd slide, you will see Juneteenth flag

4th slide Juneteenth reading comprehension

5th slide Juneteenth discussion questions where you can engage your students into inquiry thinking.

6th slide Juneteenth interactive jigsaw. Students will read the text on slide 4 and put the paragraphs in order.

7th slide vocabulary cards which the students will share what they think the word means and search for the real meaning using a dictionary or (google).

8th slide is the history of the4th of July text. The students will read and right after reading, they will discuss the questions on slide 9th.

10th slide is a jigsaw for the4th of July text for the students to put in order after reading the text.

11th slide vocabulary cards which the students will write what they think the word means and search for the real meaning using a dictionary or (google).

The12-13th slide is about comparing and contrasting both holidays by completing the Venn-diagram and typing in the boxes to add their facts from the text provided.

Slide 15th is the book response to be used with the hyperlinked books and videos on slide 2.
