I've developed a seven step process for poetry analysis. This packet includes those steps with six practice poems ("The Tyger" by William Blake, "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings" by Maya Angelou, "Hope is the thing with feathers" by Emily Dickinson, "When Great Dogs Fight" by Melvin B. A Christmas Carol Analyzing Quotes Novel Study
Here is an extra for reading and analyzing quotes from the novel being studied. Students will analyze and explain how quotes show character traits, theme, and message from the text.
