This speech analysis discussion guide highlights the rhetorical devices used by King with margin annotations and correlating color coded lines underlined in the text. I use this key to show the students, "How did the author say it?" (a common core step when doing close and critical reading). Using this activity helps the students understand the speech better and helps them with evaluating what King was saying.

This handout allows students to practice learning any major scale in multiple ways. Students can fill out the note names (in any 1 octave range), and they also list the note letter names. In addition, they fill in their correct fingerings using a blank template underneath each note. The PDF's are also formatted to "type into" if you wish to do some of the work for students ahead of time. I tend to print one of these for each scale students are learning, so they'' end up with 7-12 of these.
