Problem Solving Peace Rug
This is a great tool for teaching students to solve problems independently! In my classroom we have a small rug called the "peace rug" that the students sit on when using this process. They sit criss-cross across from each other. It takes some modeling at the beginning of the year, but they catch on quickly! After a few practcies, my students just simply ask if they can "go to the peace rug". Hope this helps!

I hand out this organizer to each student. It's great for having students problem solve. It gives students an opportunity to come up with a plan to solve a complex problem.
I used this in my Remedial Math classes, Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics classes. My 12th grade Statistics class wanted to use this organizer everyday. We ended up putting this organizer in a pocket protector and use dry-erase markers over it.
