Students will read, highlight, and answer text dependent questions about each of the three compromises that tried to keep the balance of power between the slave states and free states. A graphic organizer (foldable) template is provided. Students will use the reading material to do close reads and write about the three compromises. The teacher can also project full page historical maps in order for students to color code blank historical maps already provided on the foldable.
