Beginner ELL Book on World Geography
Teaching Social Studies and Science to newcomer and beginner English Language Learners is always a struggle. There aren't a lot of materials that accessible to them, and they frequently have even less background knowledge than the rest of the class. To get around that, I started writing pattern books on the topics we were studying. These pattern books serve the same dual purpose that the grade level texts do in advancing literacy while learning content.
