Students will analyze the popular Petrarchan Sonnet, "How Do I Love Thee," by Elizabeth Barrett Browning. In a graphic organizer, they will record diction, tone, mood and theme. After previewing several other sonnets, they will write a Petrarchan Sonnet to express the feelings of Cyrano de Bergerac. The following day they will write a Petrarchan Sonnet on a topic of choice.
