I find it helpful to do long-term planning by typing or writing in the topics covered each week in a quarter. This 4 page weekly pacing guide will allow you to edit and type in the dates of the weeks in your school's quarter. There are pre-set columns for Reading, Writing, Math, Science/SS and Other, just to jot things down like holidays, field trips and school-wide testing. This was created in word so you can edit it to best fit your needs, or just print it as in and write things in if that is

Math Passport

I used these with my math intervention students. When we began a new standard, we added the standard and a brief description. Once a student had mastered the standard, they filled in the "I can" and "example" parts. When all parts for the given standard had been filed in, they would receive a stamp in their passport. I print page #1 on color. I print pages #2-3 back-to-back. I print pages #4-5 back-to-back.

This graphic organizer takes out the steps of figuring out how to set up the writing and simply allows the students to write in the steps they did in the order they did them. This can be used at the beginning of the year and then scaffolded away as the year progresses, or it can be used all year for students. Right now, it is set up for a 4 step problem. I use these math fact tracking sheets for students to log their math facts every day when doing timed facts tests. The assignment portion of the log allows you to put which facts they are working on, whether its multiplication, division etc. My favorite part is the space where students can write the facts they missed on the test. This helps them reflect on which facts they need to work on. Over time, students really gain ownership of their facts and start to see trends in their growth!
