This is a rubric I used with my 1st and 2nd graders in February over the entire writing process for their President's Day assignment. They wrote, "If I Were President.." I wanted to see how well they knew each step of the writing process, so I would know what they still needed to work on.

Writing Assessment Form
This form is designed to assess and compare three pieces of writing. Simply check the boxes or note a 3-2-1 depending on your grading system. You may expound on your scoring by adding comments for each of the writing samples. This is an excellent way to show student progress and is very helpful during parent conferences.
