Beginning Band Practice Log
This is the practice log that I created to use with my 5th grade beginning band. There are 5 of the same practice log included in this product, with the days of the week changing to meet your students' needs.
Example: I have students that take lessons on Wednesdays, so they get the practice log that has a Wednesday to Wednesday week.
There are 2 practice logs on every sheet. I cut them in half and use Tacky Glue to bind the top, making it into a notepad.

To clarify: I don't fill one out for every student each day. I save some paper by using it only as needed. For example, I have my 1st period freshman/sophomore chorus...all do well, except for two students who show up late, with a bad attitude, and without materials. This is a recorder assessment for those of you who like to empower your students. It allows your students to play for each other and become critical listeners. One student plays while the other fills in this easy assessment. It works for any song! The player can earn a recorder karate belt by scoring well. Music Behavior Note
This is a note I use in my classroom for when students have to sit in time out in music. I send this home to communicate with the parents. There are check boxes that go with my rules posters that are in my music room (Make good choices, Use kind words, show respect, involve yourself, care for equipment). There is also a place to write comments about what happened. It has a place for you to type in your own contact info if a parent wanted to contact you after reading the note.

Sometimes it's hard as specials teachers to remain in contact with parents, let alone classroom teachers!
This quick and easy note is great for providing feedback to parents when their child struggled to be on their best behaviour during music class.
