UIL Elementary Number Sense practice book part 2
These are practice lessons I have put together to work with 4th and 5th graders on the second section of the Number Sense test (questions 20-40) for UIL.
Lessons include: converting fractions/decimals/percentages, prime numbers, LCM and GCD, ratios, adding and subtracting fractions, comparing fractions, and squares.
Please note, this is meant to be used with students AFTER they have mastered the lessons in the first practice book I have created.

3 Digit Addition Using Expanded Notation
Students practice adding two three-digit numbers by splitting each addend into expanded form and adding each place value together followed by putting the expanded form back into the base ten numeral (standard form).

Basic Blank Multiplication Chart From 0-12
This is a table I designed for my children to learn their skip counting and multiplication facts. On occasion, I have timed them for three minutes to complete the entire table with accuracy. It is amazing how quickly they have learned their facts, compared to using flashcards.

Estimating Products Using Rounding Common Core Worksheet
On this worksheet students round two and three digit numbers and then multiply them by one digit numbers in order to estimate the product. I had them round to the left most digit. After, we discussed if our estimate is higher or lower than what the product of the original problem would be. Students really enjoy this because they feel smart multiplying big numbers in their head : )

Reading Tables to Interpret Science Data for ACT ASPIRE
This is a table of climate data on five different biomes. The students are asked to use the data in the table to answer a variety of questions. They must interpret the information given in order to answer the questions. There are multiple choice, sorting, and open ended questions.
