Birthday Drum
Every class celebrates birthdays in some fashion. With this song the birthday boy or girl has the opportunity to play the special "Birthday Drum" while the class sings the salute to their honored day. Works best with children 12 and under. It was written by Clark Bell and appears on his Mixed Meters for Minors album. A fun craft project would be to make a class dedicated birthday drum.

This song was written to cheer up my daughter while riding to school one day. The distance to the school was about 3 miles and it was just enough time to complete the song and teach it to my daughters Montessori class that very same day. I have to admit that it was the easiest song that I ever composed. I hope you may find it useful and enjoyable.

This song was written while Clark Bell was stationed in St. John's Newfoundland, Canada
and longing for the warmth and comforts of his Florida home. It is a jazz waltz in 3/4 time and features Bill Prince on the Clarinet. This song was submitted in the contest by the Legislature of Florida to find an official song to replace "Old Folks at Home". It is descriptive of the climate, animals and fish one would expect to find in the Sunshine state. It appears on the Special Kind of Songs album.

This appears on the Special Kind of Songs Album and features Cheryl Bell (age 10)touting the effects of a Color TV on the life of her family. Bill Prince spices this one up with a duel between the Tenor and Alto sax. It is similar to the Ernie Ford song "16 Tons" but has no connection to the mining of coal. Clark Bell had a lot of fun with this one and hope you do too.

The Alto flute is featured in the background by the imaginative artistry of Bill Prince. The words were suggested by a middle school girl whose father was my son's drafting teacher.

This song was one of the reasons that the title "Special Kind of Songs" was chosen for the "Blue" album. I considered that the awesome talent of this lovely young lady was worthy of praise and celebration. To put that in to play I wrote this tribute to Chris Evert. She was a great role model for youngsters who dedicated so much energy to achieve excellence in her sport. When she won the Wimbledon Ladies Championship, this song was played on several radio and TV stations in the South Florida area
