Composition: “Cymbalism” is composed as an introduction to cymbals at the elementary school level. Written in 4/4 with one Snare Drum, one Bass Drum, a set of Crash Cymbals, a Suspended Cymbal, and as many Finger Cymbals as you have remaining students it displays the importance of all types of cymbals, especially the Finger Cymbals. Your students will WANT to play the Finger Cymbals.

Ensemble: Percussion Ensemble

Ideas:

1. Have a special guest play the Finger Cymbals. They may wish to do push-ups and stretch before they play. :)

2. Have teachers play the Snare and Bass Drum parts to feature students on the Cymbals.
