How To Write A Speech

My students are required to write a 4-H speech. This was my first time teaching a group how to write a speech. I created this flipchart to explain components of a speech along with a rubric. The grading rubric is embedded into the flipchart. In the notes section on the final slide, the directions explain how to open the grading rubric. The grading rubric is open to change. You can change it to fit your requirements or needs for your students. Thank you very much!

It is a great way to get the day started because many students arrive at different times, but everyone knows exactly what to do each day. The expectation is that students are writing a paragraph. After five to ten minutes, I invite the students to stand and share if they wish. Students who do are rewarded using our classroo

Schoolergories

This is a fun game I have played with kids to get their minds thinking. It would be great for a class reward party or indoor recess. Pick a letter and the team has to come up with a word in each category that begins with that letter. Depending on the age, you can change the time each round.
