This EEKK! poster encourages students to sit elbow to elbow and knee to knee while reading, with the book in the middle. This is a great strategy to encourage cooperative reading. So many times student pairs are not sitting conducive to learning and hearing their partner read. This poster is a visual reminder on how to appropriately sit with their partner!

I say "Bulletin Board", but I actually have these on my white board. To tie in my detective theme with my administration's desire for us to post our day's objectives, I came up with the idea of listing the day's "Mission", and then also having a place for the students to record things that they've learned ("Discoveries"). I will reward sincere, thoughtful responses. So, this is a 12" x 18" .jpg image that can be printed at Costco (they do all of my printing for me). It will then be cut in half

In graffiti style the question: What did you learn today? Colorful graphics for the door, wall above the lockers, or even ceiling! I have in the past had a student fill out a card at the end of each school day and tape it around the question - so at the end of the year there are 180 different cards.
