Inequalities for SMART Students!
Smart is relative here, but this is a collection of inequalities my 8th graders had trouble with the first time around. I used the PowerPoint on the SMART BOARD and had students come to the board and solve and graph each inequality. I gave students Smartie candies to eat as they went along. This review was created using smart notebook software. This review covers simplifying expressions using the rules of exponents. The problems range in difficulty from using one property to using several properties. I use this review after studying the properties of exponents in the Prentice Hall textbook. This is a lesson on understanding the concept of parallel lines through some investigation. After the investigation, students will visually see how parallel lines look and why they are parallel. This is a simple program to explore algebraic factors. The software will break down simple algebraic terms into its basic factors. Ordinary numbers can also be broken down into their factors.
