Personality Research Webquest, English or Physchology

This is a fun activity that I do with my 12th graders just before they embark on their major research paper. They love it because it is all about them, and I also get the added bonus of teaching them how to use the internet to conduct research, how to document their sources, and how to respond to informational text. Students use computers or comparable technology to take a test and learn their Meyer-Briggs personality profile. From there, the complete research to see how this profile explains

This lesson introduces the legendary curse of Macbeth, both in history and on stage today. Students must look into the origin of the curse and how its effects linger in the theater industry even today. Multiple expansion activities are included. This download also includes digital access to an interactive Google Slide, for assigning to online learners. This resource pairs well with the rest of my Macbeth resources, found all together in my Macbeth unit bundle. ⭐ Have a question or comment?Feel f

Tired of showing a PowerPoint and having students take notes about Shakespeare's language, Elizabethan society, and other necessary contextual topics for Twelfth Night? Same! I created this WebQuest to provide students with an inquiry-based activity to build the background needed for students to understand the themes and the humor of Twelfth Night. This activity has multiple entry points and is naturally scaffolded so that every student, IEP, ELL, 504, etc. can all see success!**This resource re

Evicted is an incredible nonfiction text, but it is important that all students have the same background knowledge of eviction, homelessness, and other poverty-related issues before they begin reading and discussing the book. Although I designed this for my AP Lang students, it is perfect for other ELA classes as well! This WebQuest ( Google Doc with curated links) covers all of the basic concepts students need to be on equal footing. This activity has 5 parts:1. What is Homelessness?2. The Cos

I used this in my 11th grade English class after reading several short stories from the Harlem Renaissance. I wanted to tie the unit to current events, so that students could see the connections between the themes from that time period to today. The activity contains a list of several different Internet articles that have to do with race and current race relations. Students choose a title, then search for it, and complete the questions while reading. Students evaluate the author's argument and

Vietnam War Readings Connections WebQuest

I used this with my 11th grade English students after reading several short stories about the Vietnam War and soldiers in general. This is a WebQuest in which students search from a list of articles. The article titles are listed on the sheet. Students then read the article online and break down the author's point of view and respond with their own point of view. This worked so well in my classroom in tying in historical literature with modern-day, relevant war stories.
