This language arts form is a great way to start the day! It's also a good way to give kids a chance to orally report something to their classmates. This brief form allows the student to fill out information for the "radio station"--which is your room number. The information includes date, temperature, and big news of the day. The students can either use a thermometer you have in the room that shows outside temperature, or they can check using the computer. I find even the children who are so shy

We demonstrated the moon phases with a quick experiment and a wonderful worksheet that reinforces the size, and location of the moon, sun and earth. This is an activity I like to do with my students after having discussed and learned about Growth Mindset by Carol Dweck. The activity is meant to demonstrate how Growth Mindset works. Enjoy!!The activity requires 2 - 3 beach balls (or any other ball that that are safe to throw in the classroom).

Light Addition and Subtraction Virtual Activity

This activity uses two online interactives on light addition and subtraction. Students explore the two interactives, complete a data chart, and then using the information from both charts answer analysis questions. It's great for substitute days, as an introduction to visible spectrum, or as a homework or independent assignment. Also great for students who miss your in class hands on activity, or for students who need more practice with the concept.
