Calming Mindfulness Meditation Script for Testing (2-3 minutes)
Our school counselors have asked us to do mediation with student's before STAR testing, so this is the script I developed to use with students. The language seems best fitted for middle school or high school students, but could easily be adapted for elementary as well. With a focus on calming breathing and mindfulness, this would be beneficial to use with students before any kind of major assessment or standardized testing.

In an effort to build perseverance and problem solving, I found that these questions, in kid-friendly language, helps students slow down and think through a solution pathway before, during, and after solving. These questions serve as a prompt to get the mathematical discussion sparked in student groups.
