Latin Epitaph Project
This project allows your students to practice Latin composition via the compact form of epitaphs, as well as composing a brief eulogy for an imaginary deceased friend, and also gives them the opportunity to demonstrate their artistic creativity by designing a sarcophagus. Greek and Latin Greek Root Word Hunt
I use this activity during my Daily 5 "Word Work" group. Students are given a "Root of the Week"... for example, prefix un-.
Students will then fill in the date, root, meaning, and draw a picture that will help them remember what the meaning of the root is.
After they've completed this portion, they will brainstorm with their small group words that go with this root. Once they have decided on which three words they would like to use, they will list them. Then they will each get a diction

Roman Theater Project
This project is meant to go along with Unit 1 Stage 5 of the Cambridge Latin Course. It also is meant to be used with A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Students are asked to create a theater mask (I bought a set of unpainted masks from Amazon) and research one of the classic Roman stock characters.

Olympian Gods Project
Students have previewed the Olympian gods, then they get to dive deeper into a few of the ones they like the most! They get the opportunity to learn about their favorite gods and then choose an option to present their gods' stories and myths, either through Minecraft, a video, or other possible options listed in the document.
