Biography PowerPoint Project
Students create a PowerPoint presentation based on a person who has contributed something to society or to history. This is a beginning project for high school or middle school students. The lesson lays out what should be included on each slide. There is a rubric for grading the project as well.

This packet includes EDITABLE directions and an EDITABLE full sheet and half sheet grading rubric for the Shoe Box Biography Report.
Students may choose their person or the person can be assigned to them.
Students will collect 6 - 10 objects or pictures that fit into an adult size shoe box to represent the person that they chose. They will then present the project to the class, talking about each object.

Of Mice and Men Introduction/Background Project
Not only does this quickly engage them in the material with fun topics, but it also takes the front-end load off of you as the teacher. (Who doesn't love that?!) This perfect introduction to Of Mice and Men allows students to collect the background information necessary to understand the text and/or film. For this assignment, I don't tell my students anything about Of Mice and Men. I let them come up with the background information and share it with their classmates.

Greek Mythology Academic Research Presentation Guidelines & Checklist
A major portion of my freshman Greek mythology unit focused on how to conduct academic research and prepare to present research orally in a presentation. This is the guidelines/checklist of requirements for the project. We also addressed how to effectively construct a Works Cited page in MLA format and how to design slides for a presentation.
