A Pet for Patrick Math Project (PBL)
In this small group (or independent) project, students research and calculate the cost of owning a pet. Area and Perimeter Project
This is a very basic area and perimeter project. The students are asked to measure 3 the area and perimeter of 3 rectangular objects in the classroom.
They are than asked to find 2 circular objects and measure their diameter, radius, and find the area and circumference.
This project also comes with a detailed rubric so the students understand how they are being assessed.
How Do You Measure a Building or Tree?-Making a Hypsometer
Students intigrate math and co-operation in a team enviroment to solve how to measure any building or tree. If you wanted to take this a step further, you could ask them, after the class project is completed on how they would measure a valley.
