The Rainforest, Close Reading and Writing 2nd Grade
This unit is designed to give students some facts about the animals, plants and people of the the rainforests. There are short text, activities and questions to provide practice for close reading and writing. There are activities and questions that focus on Using Text Features, Determining Word Meanings and Main Idea and Supporting Facts. An Opinion Writing Lesson and a Short Research project provide writing practice. The unit is designed to supplement regular reading and writing curriculum.
