Fraction Recipe Book Project
This is an activity I used to reinforce fraction operations in my 6th grade math class. The students created a class recipe book by each bringing in three of their favorite recipes. They had to include a list of ingredients, as well as instructions for doubling, tripling, or halving the recipe. 100th Day Fruit Loop Necklace Sorting and Counting Mats
These mats were created especially for a 100th Day celebration! Students sort fruit loop cereal by color on the first mat. Students then transfer the fruit loops onto the second mat*, counting to 100, but in color-coded groups of 10. The fruit loops can then be strung onto a necklace** to wear and display their knowledge of 100 and counting by tens! Print the mats on cardstock and laminate to ensure durability. (Mine have lasted for years!)
