Fraction of a Day Flip Book - How do you spend your day? Pie Chart Analysis
What do you spend your time on? Well, break it down with this pie chart flip book to find out your fraction of a day. It does require strong teacher modeling to show how to break down major chunks of the day. From there, students color code and key in the pie chart, and answer questions by illustrating and writing details. This project the students create a garden. The students then have to figure out the actual fraction of each vegetable and the estimated fraction that the vegetables take up in the garden. With this comes the directions, the table to fill in, rubric and a directional page for the instructor. We made this a big project where they had to create an actual garden on construction paper.
