How far could you jump on other planets?
This is a short and fun lab for kids to determine how far they would be able to jump on other planets due to gravity. It includes a hypothesis as well as conclusion questions for kids to complete. If you wanted to stretch it out a bit, you could have kids do 3 trials and find their average before calculating their new jump distance. You could also find class average or have kids graph their data. Hope you enjoy!

This test is an application based test rather than a recall from memory test, which we are finding students need more practice with as the world is calling for problem solvers. Practice Science Lab and Report
In this week-long group activity, students will test three brands of the same product to determine which is the best product to use for the job it was intended. Students will assume leadership roles in the lab group and work to keep to a schedule during the week of lab activity. Included are specific directions and tips for the teacher plus a rubric which can be used to assess the performance of the students. This is a good way to start the school year or to practice necessary science

Measuring in centimeters Assessment for 2nd-8th grade
This product contains two activity and recording sheets to measure students' knowledge of measuring in centimeters using a ruler and calculating additional amounts needed. Also included is a rubric to score their performance and instructions This is a great tool for wrapping up a math or science unit, where you want to check their skill level in measuring.

In this lesson, students are exposed to order of operations in math and use the order of operations to solve problems to get the correct numbers of ounces, cups, etc for ingredients for a science experiment - elephant toothpaste.
Students will be using order of operations, following a set of directions in the correct order, and exploring an exothermic chemical reaction all while have a great messy fun time!

The main focus of this task is calculating unit rates, but I turned it into a lab to give students the opportunity to think like scientists. You can shorten it and give more distinct parameters to fit your classroom. I left some of it open for students to explore and explain for themselves. Enjoy!
