Three fun and easy to use activities that teach and practice basic word processing skills! My adult learners and ESL students often haven't had much experience using computers to type essays or do class projects. So I devised these three worksheets to get my students from knowing nothing about word processors, to being able to type a perfectly formatted essay! And each one is hands-on, nitty gritty, students sitting at the computer, learning by doing. Build their confidence by letting them do it

Argument and Counterargument Matching Game

I used this game when teaching argument and counterargument with my 5th graders. I cut the strips of paper up (could glue them onto construction paper to make them more sturdy) and distributed them to the class. They had to walk around the room and find their match. When the game ended, students lined up with their match and I called on a few students to share out whether their card was the argument/counterargument. Students had to justify their answers. You can reshuffle cards and play again

Most of the work is on your own so this escape room plan is only $3. It's simple to understand, simple to put together but LOTS of fun :) It'll add the little extra fun and "sustenance" to th

SHOW Not Tell! Bring Boring Sentences to Life!

This is set of about 60 BORING sentences that students need to bring to LIFE using sensory details and figurative language! For example, students may take the sentence "The dog is cute" and turn it into "My heart melted like chocolate on a hot day when I took in the sight of the adorable, cuddly puppy softly cooing in my lap." I love to print these out, crinkle them up, and throw them in the air. Students grab a boring sentence, create a "showing sentence," and repeat the process. This is an exc
