I created this dice game for students to practice exponents after our multiplication lesson on exponents. The strategy of the game is to choose the base and exponent that will give you the highest answers, because at the end the students will have to total up their answers in order to see who wins with the highest total. This helps with number sense, multiplication practice, and understanding exponential form.

This game is called Dump It! What you do is put a set amount of red and yellow math counters into a cup. Students will shake the cup and dump it in their tray. They then will count how many counters landed yellow and how many landed red and write that number on the sheet. They have so much fun with this activity! To challenge those who need a little something extra you can have them circle which number is greater or less.
