My Plate Foldable
My students cut this out on the dotted lines and taped it onto a paper plate. The plate was then glued onto a large sheet of construction paper. Inside each flap the students cut out magazine pictures of each food group and glued them onto the plate.

Digestion Science Lab- Demonstrates importance of chewing thoroughly
Students dissolve antacids in water. Some are crushed, representing chewed food, and some are not. They time how long it takes for each to dissolve. They find that it is faster for the crushed tablet to dissolve, which means that chewed food is easier for your stomach to break down.
