Students in 2nd through 5th grades will have the opportunity to match up Greek and Latin roots with their meanings, examples of words containing the roots, and pictures to lock the meanings into memory!! There are two versions, one that is more difficult because the colors are the same, while the other set is multi-colored for easy self checking. Once puzzles are completed students will record the matches they have made in a chart.

These lists are great for any spelling or word activities in the classroom. They work especially well for independent practice during the working with words center. Just print on cardstock and laminate! The spelling patterns on the lists are common in Spanish (ex. b/v, ll/y, i/y, r/rr, h muda, g/j/x, c/s/z, prefijos, sufijos, etc).

This is a list of word with diptongo or hiato. Students cut them out and sort them according to one of the categories. I have put two to a page so save paper. I also give them a piece of construction paper to make their sort to save copies. After they are done they have to chose some of the words and write sentences with them therefore reinforcing other skills.
